Our approach
Legible uses only the cookies it needs to operate. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell your data. The cookies we set are strictly necessary or functional, as described below.
Cookies we use
- legible_locale — Functional. Stores your chosen language so the interface loads in your preferred locale. First-party; persistent (typically up to ~1 year).
- sb-* (Supabase auth session) — Strictly necessary. Set for logged-in users to maintain your authenticated magic-link session so you stay signed in. First-party; lasts for the duration of your session / token validity and is cleared on sign-out.
- legible_dashboard — Strictly necessary. An httpOnly admin token that secures access to the dashboard. First-party, httpOnly (not readable by client-side scripts); session/short-lived.
Analytics is cookieless
We measure aggregate usage with Vercel Analytics, which is privacy-friendly and does not set tracking cookies or build a persistent identifier for you. Because no analytics cookies are stored on your device, this measurement does not rely on the cookies listed above.
A note on IP addresses
Separately from cookies, your IP address is processed transiently to apply rate-limiting and prevent abuse. It is not stored long-term. See our Privacy Policy for details.
How to manage cookies
Because the cookies above are strictly necessary or functional, disabling them may break core features such as staying signed in or remembering your language. You can still control cookies through your browser:
- most browsers let you view, block or delete cookies in their privacy or security settings;
- you can clear the cookies set by legibleindex.com at any time, which will sign you out and reset your saved language preference;
- signing out of your account clears the Supabase session and dashboard cookies associated with your session.
Changes to this policy
If the cookies we use change, we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above.
